RICHARD AHR 1929-2012
Born in buffalo, NY, Ricahrd Ahr earned a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Cranbrook ArtAcademy in Michigan. He was a Korean WarAir Force Veteran. Mr. Ahr moved to NewYork City in 1958, where he beganexhibiting in galleries. He was employedby the Museum of Modern Art, Department of Painting and Sculpture. After heretired, he continued to paint in his studio in the East Village.
He worked primarily in acrylic and watercolor, painting genrescenes in places such as New York City and Florida. His subjects included City Scenes, Beach, Dance and Racing. He exhibited in the Sommerhill Gallery inDurham, SC as well as in NYC. His workshave been the MOMA as well as numerous private art collections.
